"My love is like a red, red rose" by Robert Burns

O, my love is like a red, red rose,
that's newly sprung in June.
O, my love is like a melody,
that's sweetly play'd in tune.
As fair thou art, my bonnie lass,
so deep in love am I,
And I will love thee still, my dear,
till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
and the rocks melt wi' the sun!
And I will love thee still, my dear,
while the sands of life shall run.
And fare the weel, my only love!
And fare the well awhile!
And I will come again, my love.
Tho it were ten thousand mile!

Elena, thanks for all the poems and "romantic" posts.
You keep reminding us what romantic love really is.
Such a delight to read them all...

Thank you, Paula. That is exactly why I have been posting so much poetry lately. If we remember what true romantic love is then we will not be deceived by the mirage.
