ShareAs Title 42 is set to expire on Thursday, ending the power granted to Border Patrol and Department of Homeland Security officials that enabled them to remove illegal immigrants over concerns about health and the spread of communicable disease, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has said he plans to transport "thousands" of border crosses to sanctuary cities such as New York City and Chicago.
According to the New York Post, Abbott said on Monday during a press conference, "With the Biden Administration ending Title 42 this Thursday, President Biden is laying down a welcome mat to people across the entire world, saying that the United States border is wide open and it will lead to an incredible amount of people coming across the border illegally."
In April, Abbott began relocating the masses of illegal immigrants flooding into Texas and promised to bus them to blue states whose leadership supported open borders. By October, 19,000 illegal immigrants had arrived in NYC, causing NYC Mayor Eric Adams to declare a state of emergency due to leadership's inability to house and take care of the individuals. Adams said his city was too crime-ridden even for illegal immigrants, many of whom got off the bus to go anywhere else while in transit. (Read more.)
