Homeschooler back at home

Melissa Busekros, the German teenager who was taken away from her family because they were homeschooling her, has returned home. Praise God! Share

sad story, let´s hope that the girl will be fine from now on...I did not know till today that home-schooling can have so drastic consequences in Germany. I have no kids, but if I would have I would be also worried for what they got to learn in the public schools, when coming to morality, sex etc.

Yes, dear Paula, I hope she is fine from now on. She seems to be a strong-minded young lady. She has many friends in this country who have been praying for her. We are all in this together. I agree with you about schools.

Praise the Lord she is back with her family where she belongs!

It terrifies me to think that government officials can act so high handed and get away with it. Imagine 15 policemen coming and taking one of your children away....I cannot imagine their sorrow and distress.

I have heard some Americans saying "Who cares about what happens in Germany? They should leave if they don't like the laws there."

With our activist judges looking more and more to foreign rulings for 'inspiration', we ARE in danger in the US.

That coupled with disdain in some quarters here for the family, homeschooling and parental rights...we have much to fear.

We must be vigilant and fight to protect the family, parental rights and the right to homeschool. If we don't, we could end up like Germany and have our children taken away from us simply because we choose to live out our faith by keeping our children close to us and shepherding them at home.

I agree, Margaret, and we are coming closer to such a situation everyday. There is new "hate crimes" legislation pending in congress which will threaten the religious liberty of many Americans. We must pray and contact our elected officials.

We must remain ever vigilant and protect our freedoms from being usurped by government's need to 'protect' us from ourselves. I always taught my children to question authority. The time may come when I could be arrested for what I have just written.
