Marie Antoinette has been the focus of a number of historical fiction novels. "The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette" by Carolly Erickson, "Trianon" by Elena Maria Vidal and "Flaunting Extravagant Queen" by Jean Plaidy focus on the life of Marie Antoinette. Marie Antoinette has also appeared in film. She was played by Joely Richardson in "The Affair of the Necklace" and most well-known played by Kirsten Dunst in the recent movie "Marie Antoinette". She was also played by Norma Shearer in a 1938 film also called "Marie Antoinette."Share

Nice!
You were also mentioned in the same paragraph as Kirsten Dunst! What a paradox!
Thanks, Susan.
Yes, Julygirl, how ironic.
what a nice - and deserved - compliment!
Thanks, Tristan!

Elena, I remember checking out Jean Plaidy precisely because you recommended her. Congratulations!
You read Jean Plaidy because of me! Well, I'm glad somebody listens to what I say.
I read Jean Plaidy because of you. Isn't she the same person as Victoria Holt?
Yes, she went by several different names. Just like some other people.
Awesome!
Elena Maria, it is so nice to see your name mentioned; as it should be. It is also nice to see that in your book there is a much fairer treatment of Her Majesty. The faith of Their Majesties is also so very important(as it would be in the 18th century.) Your book presents a young inexperienced girl who matures into the noble woman, mother and queen that Marie Antoinette was for all history.
I believe to be respected in your field among contemporaries is the highest praise anyone could want.
You are all so kind to me. Thanks!
Your work is so powerful and moving.
Readers like you make it all worthwhile!
