The Counter-Reformation in Finland

I did not know that there was one. Here is the biography of Father Johannes Jussoila (1555-1604), who was tortured to death for his Catholic faith. Share

Oskar Garstein's series, "Rome and the Counter-Reformation in Scandinavia," in four volumes, is an excellent source on this topic (and probably, one of the few in English). I was quite surprised myself to learn of the efforts made, even in these rather remote areas, to bring people back to Catholicism.
