It will always amaze me that THIS one piece of furniture the revolutionary cabal of France held back from the selling block.Historians still consider it probably the single most magnificent piece of 18th century French furniture in the world.

There is no finer furniture in the world than 18th century French furniture, and this magnificent piece has to be one of the beautiful pieces of furniture ever built- every detail is just lovely.

It is in the style Louis XV, and I believe that that king was its original owner.

Only one thing about it I could fault, and that's that it doesn't have a large enough writing surface for serious work. But all those little velvet-lined drawers are great.
