I find it iteresting that there ares stories of blacks actually being a part of French society in the 18th century. I heard that Maria Antoinette had a black maid who was starved to death for her affiliation with the Queen.

Do you have any other information on her?

No, except that I think her name was Rosalie. Marie-Antoinette also had a music instructor who was a former slave, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges, known as "le Mozart noir." There is a post about him on this blog-- just do a search.
