Oh, what a revolution....Little did I dream that I should have lived to see such disasters fall upon her, in a nation of gallant men, in a nation of men of honor and of cavaliers! I thought ten thousand swords must have leaped from their scabbards, to avenge even a look which threatened her with insult. Allegory of Madame la Dauphine

Here is the frontispiece for the catalog of books of the library of the new Dauphine Marie Antoinette from the year 1770. (Via tiny-librarian) It looks like the princess is being welcome by three goddesses (perhaps the three Graces) and the winged Victory. Above I see Apollo's chariot with a winged deity (Mercury?
