How to put this nicely...

The article's author needs a proofreader.

Picture the student who, in search of ideas for his Shakespeare paper, turns in an essay stating that "By 1946, John had re-established himself socially and financially", or that cites a "1952 pamphlet by Robert Greene".

(And the teacher gleefully marking in red ink against the first date, "Well, it took him long enough!")
