Desecration

Some reflections on Myers' hatred of God.
Now some forms of insanity are morally innocent due to organic troubles with the brain or body, or because of some sort of trauma. But others are chosen and willed. The choice to go out of one's way to blaspheme Jesus Christ, purely for hate's sake, is one of them. And, as with all sins, the sin itself is the punishment, because you then have to organize your life around defending the indefensible, and you become bricked round in the furnace of your own irrational hatred. The hatred breeds lies like, "I'm just exercising freedom of expression."

No. You are committing theft, vandalism, and incitement.

This entire story, and now news that he actually carried out the desecration is painful to even think about. What a horrible crime against God.

"May the most holy, most adorable, most incomprehensible and ineffable Name of God be forever praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, by all the creatures of God and by the most Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Sacrament of the altar." - Golden Arrow prayer of reparation.

Amen.

Myers sounds like the kind of person who will do anything to get attention.

That's why since blogging the story of his threat I thought I'd deny him just that by ignoring him. (Not to judge those who've blogged about it since.)

And how do we even know whether to believe him? How do we know he even did what he claimed? He is like a bratty teenage boy just trying to be as outrageously horrible as possible.

Anyway, enough has been said about it to make people aware and to encourage people to pray.
