Rest in Peace, Charlie Kirk!

May be an image of 1 person and text that says 'To Charlie Kirk's S shooter: YOU are cOи coward who FAILED a mission. You hid in the shadows, pulled a trigger, and ran. That's not justice. That's S cowardice. You feared his words because they're stronger than your bullets. You didn't silence him you proved his words have power. You didn' kill his voice- you amplified it. You didn' end the movement you grew it. CHARLIE' fight is OUR fight. And we will NEVER back down. -Jan Morgan'

A Christian patriot has been assassinated. From The Reactionary

It’s tough to find the words.

Charlie Kirk was only 31 yet he accomplished so much. He built a movement and a platform, engaging the young when establishment Republicans couldn’t (or wouldn’t). How do you reach the young? By reaching out to the young. He became a must-see college speaker, engaging college students, persuading the undecided, standing for his faith, and sparring with detractors. He stood strong on his beliefs, was unapologetic and irreplaceable.

And despite all he had done, I’m sure his proudest accomplishment was his family: a wife and two young children who are left with a permanent and unfillable void. Heartbreaking.

The assassin is still out there. Earlier this evening, FBI Director Kash Patel announced they had captured the killer. He since stated the suspect was “released after an interrogation by law enforcement.”

The killer’s motive hasn’t been confirmed, though that’s easy to guess. It appears Kirk was the victim of a heinous act of violence for what he believed and for his effectiveness in mobilizing the right.

Hate is infectious. Rhetoric becomes truth. Spread the hate long enough – the right is an existential threat, Trump is Hitler, the GOP is turning into Hezbollah, etc. – and eventually it might be acted upon. That explains not just the crimes of violence but the lack of pity for Kirk and his family from many on the left. The celebratory social media posts and TikTok videos are out there and easy to find. The killer already has his own fan club. (Read more.)

From Kurt Schlichter at Townhall:

This may be the hardest column I’ve ever written, one where I’m so angry that it’s hard for me to put my words into a sequence that’s both coherent and not profane. They murdered Charlie Kirk today. They shot him dead because he dared to exercise his right as a human being to speak freely – contrary to what Democrat senators insist, our rights do not come from government but are endowed within us by our Creator. So, this was not merely a crime against one man, or against his beautiful family, but against both this country and our God.

[...]

He’s not going to be forgotten. They may have killed him, but they’re not going to kill the movement he started. Oh no, they don’t get to win. They don’t get to murder their way to victory. They don’t get to scare us, intimidate us, or decapitate our movement. We’re going to double down.

No, we’re going to triple down.

The Democrats are out there with their weasel words today, taking a pause from calling all of us fascists – including, just the day before he was murdered, Charlie Kirk specifically – to express their sorrow and grief. They mouth the right words, but their words are empty. They are lies. The leftists are sorry that they’re going to get tarred, appropriately, with the same brush as this killer(s). After their acolytes tried to wipe out a Republican congressional softball team, went rampaging through various Christian schools, and attempted twice to kill Donald Trump – succeeding in killing Corey Comperatore – their lamentations ring empty. I don’t believe a damn word of them. They call us Nazis – what do you think they want to happen to us? (Read more.)

From Direct Line News:

What set Charlie apart wasn’t just his fierce defense of conservative values—it was his openness to debate. At his Turning Point USA events, he never shut out leftists or dissenting voices. He welcomed them. He believed in the marketplace of ideas, where truth could rise through discussion, not censorship. That’s rare in today’s culture of canceling and silencing.

On his podcast, he engaged directly with people who disagreed with him, and he did it with sharpness, wit, and clarity. As a conservative student at Georgetown, I can’t overstate how much I admired that. He showed us that standing firm doesn’t mean shutting others down—it means being ready, confident, and respectful in defending what you believe. (Read more.)
