On Being a Mother

Being a mother is the most challenging thing I have ever done. I always wanted to be a mother and have a large family. I always just assumed that I would be a good mother because I loved children and was such a good babysitter. But it is totally different when you have your own child. You have to stand between your child and the gates of hell. It is cause for constant vigilance as well as the greatest earthly happiness.
