Voyage of the Damned

I just finished watching the 1976 film Voyage of the Damned. While I was not able to focus on it because of other things going on around here, the magnitude of the injustice is horrifying. I had heard of the tragedy of the S.S. St. Louis, in which a ship carrying 937 Jewish refugees fleeing the Nazi death camps was turned away from the ports of free nations. It is incomprehensible that no one would give sanctuary to those helpless people. What cruelty to turn them away from freedom and send them back to death. Our own country turned them away.
