The remarkable spread of Christianity by the Greeks of the Byzantine Empire into Eastern Europe stands as one of history’s most significant turning points. This spread of Orthodox Christianity in the regions north of the Danube had a significant impact on the evolution of Eastern European culture. It also shaped the spiritual world of millions of people, particularly of Slavic descent.
