From East of the Sun, West of the Moon.
A painting showing Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun painting Marie Antoinette, Queen of France and Navarre. The painter and Marie Antoinette were quite close and Madame Vigée Le Brun painted many portraits of the Queen. Having left France in 1789 due to the French Revolution, returning until 1805, she remained a royalist throughout her life: a self-portrait painted in 1790 shows Louise Élisabeth painting the Queen.
