Van Loo's Marie Lesczynska
A portrait of the Queen of Louis XV from Tiny-Librarian.
For the rest of my life and for eternity too probably, I will recall the history test in which I answered that Charles XII after deposing Ausgust the Strong of Saxony gave Poland another king "his name was never famous".
History teacher in red:
"Can't you remember it, Hans?"
Stanislas Leczynski, now I can.
Maternal gramp of the father of Louis XVI, right (if Louis XVI was grandson of Louis XV, that is, as I do seem to recall).
Courteous comments are welcome. If a comment is not published, it may be due to a technical error. At any rate, do not take offense; it is nothing personal. Slanderous comments will not be published. Anonymity may be tolerated, but politeness is required.
I would like to respond to every comment but my schedule renders it impossible to do so. Please know that I appreciate those who take the time to share their thoughts.
