St. Mary Magdalen dei Pazzi

Today is her feast.

Put me as a seal upon thy heart, as a seal upon thy arm, for love is as strong as death....Many waters cannot quench charity, neither can the floods drown it: if a man should give all the substance of his house for love, he shall despise it as nothing. ~Canticle of Canticles 8: 7-8

  1. I was looking for more stuff on her, for some reason, I think she was friends of Philip Neri. Also, her family is very famous for the Pazzi conspiracy to overthrow Medici, and the lovely Pazzi chapel. I visited her incorrupt body in Florence once, quite by accident.

  2. I would love to go to Florence and see her, and St Teresa Margaret, who is also incorrupt.

  3. What I've always loved about her family name is that it is the Italian word for "crazy", so it literally means St. Mary Magdalen of Crazy.

Terry might you have visited that incorrupt body any time in 2002? I was living in Italy at that time.

  4. Delightful! I did not realize that is what her name meant.
