A place for friends to meet... with reflections on politics, history, art, music, books, morals, manners, and matters of faith.

This isn't just kindergarten -- I've read comments on Facebook from my friends trying to get their children into competitive PRE-school. I find it all very nauseating.
One of my first part-time job was at a nursery school, giving the children their practice tests and interviews. There was one little girl who was frightened to death of me (and we soon learned, of all strangers), and her mother and the nursery school principal drew up an elaborate plan to make sure the little girl wouldn't crack when her real test and interview came. I have no idea whether it worked.
Courteous comments are welcome. If a comment is not published, it may be due to a technical error. At any rate, do not take offense; it is nothing personal. Slanderous comments will not be published. Anonymity may be tolerated, but politeness is required.
I would like to respond to every comment but my schedule renders it impossible to do so. Please know that I appreciate those who take the time to share their thoughts.
Another reason to homeschool!

ReplyDeleteI would not have believed people would go to this extent except for having witnessed it first hand.

This brings tears to my eyes!
