Monarchy is Not Tyranny

Contrary to what many people seem to think.

  1. I grew up in the 50's and 60's and to me monarchy was always constitutional, whether in Britain, Belgium or Sweden. It fulfilled a need for many people because it spoke of continuity to a nation's past. The monarchs wre above the fray of party politics and they served for life. Presidents, Prime Ministers and Chancellors come and go but the monarch remained above the wheelers and dealers of back room party politics. And frankly speaking, can any nation muster the history and grandeur of the House of Windsor? I personally think not.
