A very interesting short biography, Elena! Thanks for the link. I was thrilled to read that Princess Sophie feared thunderstorms as it reminded me of a Chinese imperial figure who was equally afraid of thunderstorms and perhaps equally shy and intellectual. It's so interesting when you compare some stories and realize that there were striking similarities between the occident and the orient.
Yes, Furui, I find such similarities to be utterly fascinating. People are people, no matter what their rank or cultural background, they often share the same fears and hopes.
Courteous comments are welcome. If a comment is not published, it may be due to a technical error. At any rate, do not take offense; it is nothing personal. Slanderous comments will not be published. Anonymity may be tolerated, but politeness is required.
I would like to respond to every comment but my schedule renders it impossible to do so. Please know that I appreciate those who take the time to share their thoughts.
