The Queen in Virginia

Fr. Jim Tucker has a post about the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to the Old Dominion. I find the pictures of Her Majesty strolling through Jamestown to be particularly interesting since my ancestors on the Strong side came from England and settled in that area around 1630.

  1. This months National Geographic has a few articles about Jamestown and how the evil Europeans changed the world by arriving in Jamestown.

What has often been forgotten or overlooked is that Franciscan missionaries arrived at about the same spot years before.
