Marie-Antoinette's Travel Case

From Tatler:
Among these pieces was Marie-Antoinette’s travel bag. Made from wood and lined with leather the piece was expected to make between €8,000 and €10,000 but in fact went for €43,750 with a lot of interest in the room as well as online and on the telephone. The description of the piece read, ‘The interior has been refurbished, but an older lining remains, made of unbleached canvas, presenting in the lid an oval-shaped nailing that held a piece of skin that probably had to be marked with initials or coat of arms.'
