Island Retreat

Accessible only by passenger ferry or private boat, it’s also home to Greyfield Inn, a unique escape that celebrates simplicity and a slower pace amid scenic surroundings. The awe-inspiring retreat was built at the turn of the century by Thomas and Lucy Carnegie for their daughter, Margaret Ricketson. In the early 1960s, Margaret’s daughter, Lucy R. Ferguson, converted the home into an inn, now owned and operated by Lucy’s grandson, Mitty Ferguson, and his wife, Mary. (Read more.)
