I have always loved the strange, colorful, and fantastically beautiful architecture of Russia, with its combination of Eastern and Western influences and its fantastic shapes and colors.

Russia's wonderful art and architecture must have sustained its people spiritually through the horrors of the Communist regime, and the brutal repression and material misery it imposed on Russia's people. Most of all, it was there to remind them of who they were and what they had been and could be again, and that the human spirit never really dies. I believe it helped set them free.
