Quelle surprise!

Marie-Antoinette's private theater was redecorated in scarlet (above) during the July Monarchy of 1830 by her niece Marie-Amelie. It has now been restored to its former elegance (below).

Now, as you know, Elena, I love both these ladies- Marie-Antoinette and Marie-Amélie, but I must say I much prefer Antoinette's taste here. All that scarlet is too oppressive for me.

I love them both as well. In this case, I think that Marie-Amelie let her Bourbon side get the better of her. The Bourbons were known to overdo it.
