A Medieval Church

Above is a recreation of a medieval parish church. Medieval people loved bright colors. Notice how the sanctuary is truly a Holy of Holies, set apart from the rest of the church by the rood screen. Share

The medieval parish church looks very much like a Byzantine Catholic or Orthodox parish church. The rood screen is quite similar to an iconostasis. Maybe contemporary church architects should take note...
