The suggestion that she could have been sent abroad, perhaps to one of the Germanic royal houses makes sense as a possibility, since the changing tides in England could have put her life in danger.

Yes, I think she went abroad with Kate Willoughby during the reign of Mary I and then she either died or returned years later after she was married.
