So very true that good nutritions strengthens the immune system. Additionally, I learned a thing or two while living in India about the medicinal qualities of certain foods.

For instance, citrus, particularly the juice of lemons and limes, alkalyzes the blood, which will reduce the body's susceptibility to disease. Diseases thrive in an acidic environment, everything from colds to cancer. So it pays to alkalyze (and yes, once citrus is exposed to the digestive system, it actually turns blood and urine alkaline).

And foods which are high in curative properties are: garlic, ginger and especially tumeric. Tumeric is so amazing that it not only heals when taken internally, it also heals when applied on external wounds, cuts, burns, even bruises and boils. It is very antiseptic and promotes healing. Red chillies are also a very good natural antibiotic, as also are ginger and garlic.
