B movies still get made, Elena, but the gratuitous CGI drowns out the archetypes. =( I've seen two this year.

The last one I watched was Death Race, which could have been a movie about a loving father who just happens to be an excellent driver, but ended up being a movie about an excellent driver who is occasionally a loving father.

I remember my grandmother reminiscing about the days when Ronald Reagan was "King of the B Movies". Today, that title arguably belongs to Jason Statham, who plays the lead in Death Race. =P

And being a B-movie actor did not mean someone was a "bad" actor. B-Movies had their niche, were less expensive to make, but not necessarily inferior in the quality of acting.
